The London area isn’t the best place for a road trip, but the counties around it, also known as the “home counties”, have a lot more natural beauty and places of interest. One of my favorite ones is Kent, both because of what you can visit around there, but also because I’ve had some good times there.

Naturally, taking a trip into Britain or towards the London area you’ll most likely not have a car available for you, and a trip around the outer London areas without your own means of transportation can become a difficult ordeal very quickly. Finding car hire Kent isn’t hard at all, and the prices may be competitive enough to make a bus or train ride to the county worthwhile. Around the London area car hire prices tend to be severely inflated, as I’m sure you understand.

Kent is one of the most beautiful places you’ll ever see. The countryside is absolutely stunning, mixing the old and the new with magnificent skill. There’s something for everyone’s taste in Kent, from great shopping malls, big cities, although not as big as Britain’s main population centers, but also small towns with a lot of history and a lot of culture.
